Lake Ferma, a small quarry pond in the Altrhein Neuburgweier nature reserve in Rheinstetten, is a small natural paradise that captivates every visitor.
Especially on a foggy morning, when the sun only peeks through the clouds, it's an unforgettable experience.

I started my short hike from the parking lot in the southeastern part of the lake, which was still shrouded in darkness. The air was cool and damp, and the thick fog hanging over the lake lent the landscape a mystical atmosphere.
I followed the path that led me around the lake and reached the northwestern shore, my destination for the morning, after about 20 minutes.

The immediate surroundings were bathed in a dim violet light when suddenly, for a brief moment, the sky, shrouded in thick fog, transformed into a vibrant display of crimson hues.
It was as if nature itself were setting off a small but intense fireworks display to welcome the new day.
The sun was initially invisible, but it could be glimpsed, intermittently, and then more and more frequently and for longer periods, through the clouds.

The atmosphere was very special, mysterious, and peaceful. The mist hanging over the lake lent the landscape a magical ambiance, and I felt like I was in another world.
I spent quite some time on the shore of Lake Ferma, enjoying this very special sunrise and taking lots of photos.

Unfortunately, as so often happens, time flew by, but such a magnificent start to the day filled me with contentment and energy, and brought a smile to my face.
